1. These Rules and Regulations have been approved by the Board of Trustees pursuant to the Articles and By-Laws of Alpha Kappa Psi Building Corporation and are intended to provide guidance and direction to all members of the Club for use and enjoyment of the facilities. Changes to these rules may be made at any time by the Board of Trustees of the Corporation.
ALL MEMBERS are hereby notified that the Caretakers of the property have the final say in any problem or situation that might arise at the Lake at any given time when there is no Corporation officers or Board Members present. The Board of Trustees has given the Caretakers the authority to act for the Board and the Officers of the Corporation in their absence. This includes enforcement of any of the following Rules. Any disagreements with the Caretakers' resolution of a problem or situation should be presented by the parties involved to the Board of Trustees at its' monthly meetings.
Any Member’s child or stepchild who has reached their nineteenth (19th) birthday and/or who is employed full-time must apply for separate appropriate Membership status in order to use the Corporation's facilities. This does not apply to full-time college or technical students living at home or boarding at college or technical schools.
Alumni members, associates, and their guests are deemed to be individually responsible for their actions and behavior while on the premises and will in no way hold the Corporation, the Board of Trustees, or qualified members of the Building Corporation responsible for any personal injuries or property damage while on the premises. Members are solely responsible for their guest's actions and behavior.
RULES FOR USE OF CORPORATION FACILITIES & PROPERTY
All membership classes provide for the use of the property by the member, members of the member's immediate family (spouse, children or stepchildren living in the Member's household), or the member's guests when accompanied by the member. All guests must be accompanied by a current Member of the Corporation while on the property.
All members and their invited guests may have full use of the Corporation's property and its amenities, including use of club-owned boats (identified by red paint on the front.), picnic areas, swimming areas, docks and grills. This does not apply to picnic areas and grills properly reserved for use by Group Functions.
Camping trailer spaces are limited to rental by Alumni members only. An annual space rental fee based on the size of the trailer will be charged on October 1st of each year and will be determined by the Board of Trustees. Space rental includes boat space rent.
Campers must abide by the rules and regulations set forth for the Members and those set forth specifically for campers.
NO sleeping is allowed in the Clubhouse except in extreme emergencies.
Entering the Caretaker’s apartment or Board of Directors room is strictly prohibitedwithout permission and supervision.
Any Member planning to be on the Premises for more than one (1) hour after dark must check in with the Caretakers.
Bonfires of any type or size are strictly prohibited on any part of the Premises. The fire pits located in the trailer parking area may be used for reasonably-sized cooking fires not to exceed eighteen (18) inches in height above ground level. Charcoal cooking fires and open flames are prohibited on the screened porch and inside the Clubhouse.
Speed limits (10 Miles per Hour) are posted on the roads on the premises and are to be observed at all times.
Vehicles should park in designated parking areas, with overflow in the yard just inside the gate. Groups should park nearest the picnic area. Driveways should be kept clear. Trailer and trailer driveways should not be blocked.
Hours of operation are from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
All members, associate members, family members, and guests must observe any local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the use of firearms, alcohol, illegal drugs, and underage drinking. Anyone caught violating these laws will be asked to leave immediately and could have their membership revoked.
Use of appropriate decorum is expected. This included but is not limited to; violence, language, alcohol intake, and music volume and language.
1. Personal boat storage spaces are available for a small annual rental fee which is determined annually by the Board of Trustees.
Boat oars, paddles, anchors, and lines as well as boating safety equipment such as seat cushions and life vests, and anchors and lines shall be furnished by the member. Personal flotation devices (life cushions or vests) are required by Federal and State Law while boating on the lake and provision of such devices is the responsibility of the member. SAFETY FIRST SHALL BE THE PRIMARY CONSIDERATION OF ALL PERSONS USING THE LAKE FOR BOATING OR SWIMMING. Non-swimmers and handicapped or infirm persons should not be allowed on the water without adequate safeguards.
All club-owned and personal boats must be returned to the boat storage area after use. Turn all boats over (seat down) at the time of storage.
Gasoline motors are not permitted on any type of boat anywhere on the Lake. Electric motors are allowed.
There are two docks on the lake. One is a swimming dock and one is a fishing dock. The swimming dock is for use by swimmers and sunbathers only. There will be no fishing from or chairs and coolers allowed on the swimming dock. There is no lifeguard on duty and any swimming is at the swimmer's own risk. The fishing dock adjacent to the barbecue grill and picnic area is for anglers and fishing only. No swimmers or sun bathers are allowed to use the fishing dock.
All members, associate members, family members, and guests must observe any local, state, and federal laws pertaining to fishing and boating, where not amended by these club rules.
Fish Retention Limits:
BASS: Bass are limited to eight (8) bass under thirteen (13) inches long per week per member including their guest(s). “Trophy” bass thirteen (13) inches long and over are limited to one (1) per MEMBER per YEAR. Any guest of any member who catches and keeps a trophy bass will be counted against the member’s annual limit. It is strongly recommended that trophy bass be returned to the Lake. (Revised 5/09)
BREAM: Return all small Bream (2 inches to 4 inches long) to the Lake unless injured. Daily limits on Bream are Fifteen (15) per week per member including their guest(s). (Revised 5/09)
FISH CAUGHT LOG: All fish catches are to be recorded in the Fish Log located by the fish cleaning table. All Bass caught should be recorded in the Log including the number of bass thrown back as well as the number of bass kept.
